New transparency data by the Australian Electoral Commission has been released today, detailing the political donations of the last year.
A Climate 200 backer and share trader, Robert Keldoulis, topped the list, at $1.1 million donated from his investment firm Keldoulis Investments.
Individual Teal candidates received a total of $432,941 from Climate 200, as well as an additional $40,281 to The Kylea Tink Independent Ltd.
The second largest donation came from Anthony Pratt, an Australian billionaire, with $1 million sent to the Labor party via Pratt Holdings on 11 January.
Pratt has recently relocated to the United States and has also given his support to President Donald Trump in recent months.
The Liberal Party’s biggest donation came from apartment developers Meriton Properties.
Owned by Harry Triguboff, the company made two payments for a total of $590,000.
Gina Rinehart donated $500,000 to the Liberals’ Queensland, Northern Territory and South Australian parties.
Labor’s federal division received just more than $15 million in donations, plus more than $52 million from their state divisions.
The Liberal Party’s federal branch received $11 million, with state branches netting $63.2 million.
