Many Gen Z travellers are opting for more budget-conscious trips, according to Airbnb research.
According to the research, more than 60% of Gen Z travellers are seeking trips lasting two to six nights as a way to decrease costs and also due to being influenced by work commitments.
Gen Z travellers are also embracing technology, with over 75% turning to Airbnb for trip planning.
Emerging locations include Brazillian beach towns like Praira Grande and Porto Seguro. The average rate for an Airbnb in Brazil is around A$53.21 per night.
Another popular destination is Sydney Australia, which has an average rate of $226 per night.
January has also emerged as the peak month for searching for Airbnb stays, outside of months in the middle of the year.
Another trend embraced by Gen Z travellers is nature experiences. They tend to search for activities prioritiseing wellness activities like horseback riding and forest bathing more than any other generation to disconnect and recharge.
At the time of writing, Airbnb (NASDAQ: ABNB) stock was trading at US$132.58, up 1.17% from Wednesday's close of $131.05. The stock reached a day low of $130.89 and a day high of $134.05. ABNB's market cap stands at US$82.83 billion.
