National Australia Bank (ASX: NAB) shareholders will receive about A$2.6 billion today as its final dividend is paid.
The final dividend of 85 cents per share fully franked is being paid to its 565,000 shareholders.
That brings to $1.69 per share, or $5.2 billion in total, the dividends paid by NAB to its shareholders in the 2023/24 financial year, which was 1.2% higher than in the previous year and representing a payout ratio of 73.7%.
The billion dollar Big Four bank payouts will continue this week with dividends due to be paid by Westpac Banking Corporation (ASX: WBC) and ANZ Group (ASX: ANZ).
Westpac will pay 76 cents per share fully franked on 19 December and ANZ will pay 83 cents per share, 70% franked, on 20 December.
The three banks share the same balance date of 30 September.
Australia’s largest bank, Commonwealth Bank (ASX: CBA), which balances its books on 30 June, paid its final dividend on 27 September.
