Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump are making their final pitches to voters ahead of Tuesday’s election, with Harris campaigning in Michigan and Trump holding a rally in North Carolina.
Trump will campaign in Georgia later today, while Harris is holding multiple events in Michigan. 75.1 million have already voted.
At an earlier rally today in Lititz, Pennsylvania, Trump said: “We had the safest border in the history of our country the day that I left. I shouldn’t have left.”
He was also interviewed by phone on ABC News, where he said: “I think I have a pretty substantial lead.”
Harris spoke at a predominantly Black church in Detroit, saying: “We must act on the plans He has in store for us. And we must make them real through our works, in our daily choices, in service to our communities and yes, in our democracy.”
Harris also stopped at a Detroit chicken restaurant today, where she spoke to customers alongside Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer and Detroit mayor Mike Duggan.
Celebrities like Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey will appear at a Pennsylvania rally for Harris tomorrow.
According to a New York Times/Siena poll released today, Harris is leading in the swing states of Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Nevada, while Trump leads in Arizona. In Michigan and Pennsylvania, they are tied.
Another poll by the De Moines Register and Selzer, released over the weekend, showed Harris leading in Iowa by 3%. Trump won Iowa in 2016 and 2020, as the state has trended Republican in recent years.
